The first step is to get to know your story and understand what you want to achieve. I will also explain how we work and outline the advice process. I will only ask you to share detailed information about your finances once you are happy to proceed.
The discovery meeting is an in-depth discussion about you and your family, your goals, and milestones, as well as a full review of your financial circumstances. This will form the foundations of your Personal Financial Plan. This process involves no commitment on your part, however, to make the most of our time together, you will need to do some preparation.
Using the information gathered at the discovery stage, I will present the first draft of your Personal Financial Plan. Together we’ll use cashflow modelling software to understand your options and identify planning areas based on the life you want to create. At this stage I will make specific recommendations and provide full disclosure of costs and charges to help you make an informed decision on whether you wish to proceed.
Once a framework is in place, we will prioritise planning areas and commence with implementation. I will provide a written confirmation of recommendations, supported by personalised illustrations and disclosure documents.
It is important to regularly review your plan to ensure you remain on track, regardless of what’s happening in the markets or in your life. There is no perfect plan, so we must be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances, your goals and the economic climate from time to time. We will meet at least annually (or more often as required) to review your financial situation, update your Financial Plan and ensure your investment portfolio remains suitable to meet your goals.
The value of an investment with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds selected and may fall as well as rise. You may get back less than the amount invested.
